We held the 39th Annual Holocaust Memorial Gathering at the Holocaust Memorial Park on Sunday, June 23rd from 12 to 2 PM.
For the past 40 years (except during Covid), we, the Holocaust Memorial Committee, have organized this Gathering at the Holocaust Park in June to pay tribute to the eternal memory of the six million Jewish men, women, and children who were so brutally murdered during the Holocaust. We, who have built and protected this Park for 40 years, continued this tradition so that they – our martyrs, our families – shall never be forgotten and that the world shall never forget.
We also paid tribute to the heroic fighters, both Jewish and non-Jewish, who sacrificed everything to fight the Nazis and their collaborators during World War II.
We unveiled a newly engraved monument to the Kindertransport – Jewish children who were heroically saved, and listened to the Holocaust Survivors, who are the last of their kind, as they told their personal stories.
Speakers:
- Ilse Melamid, Kindertransport Survivor
- Dr. Igor Kotler, Museum of Human Rights, Freedom, and Tolerance
- Melissa Hacker, Executive Director, The Kindertransport Association
